Nerissa can cause sonic waves by strumming a certain song to her harp and singing along to it. The sounds will help her create waves in the body of water she's in, and the more harmonious the music sounds the stronger the waves will be, which can be used to attack the enemy. However, the effects will get weaker the more she uses her power.

    + PERSONALITY : 
When you first meet her, Nerissa may seem to be a nice, polite and sweet girl, which is kind of personality that she is used to behaving like, all because she was raised in a rather strict household. Also, because of that reason, she is a naturally a responsible girl, fulfilling all the duties assigned to her with her best effort. Although she may seem to be a confident person, she is actually a self-deprecating person, making every alone time she has to reflect on the things she did that she could have done better. Before she transferred to Sibis Private School, she was also an introvert, having no one to talk to. But after that, she started to have more conversations with people, and changing into another person, a person more open to others than before. She can also get cheeky and somewhat sarcastic, when talking to people she sees as her peers. She likes teasing other people, especially her friends, when they say something that could be taken out of context. 



    + BACKGROUND :  
Nerissa was born in a family with a fairly high status, which resulted in a strict atmosphere as she grew up. She was forced to take many extra curricular activities after school, which limited her time to have fun and know other people. The only people she was close to was her mother and her elder sister. She wasn't close to her father as her father was almost never home due to work. However, every year, there is a particular family event that she looks  forward to. That is, every summer her family gets to spend a week at a booked private beach, where they would swim and have fun with barbeque dinners from time to time. That was the time when she could bond with the father she always looked up to. 

However in the year when she was 15, as she was sitting on the sand by the sea. It was lunchtime, and her whole family had went to prepare for lunch in the cottage they were staying at, leaving her behind on the beach alone. As Nerissa was dazing in the sunlight, she heard a voice calling out to her. Allured by the beautiful voice she heard, she started walking towards the ocean, not aware of the fact that she was going to drown if she continued walking without swimming. After a few moments, she realized that was underwater. But she didn't feel the water burning up her lungs, neither did she felt heavy in the water. She felt at ease and light as a feather. Looking at herself, she figured out that she had turned into a mermaid. A bright light shone in front of her, and a weapon looking like a trident and a harp. 

Nerissa reached out to grab the weapon, then another light shone. A beautiful woman appeared in front of her. Still confused by what was happening, the women introduced herself, and explained to Nerissa that she was chosen to help defend her world. It was all new to her but she was willing to accept the fate she was given to, then she blacked out. When she has awoken, she was washed up to the shore, her family surrounding her. Her family concluded that it was too much stress, so when Nerissa inquired about changing schools, they let her. And so she was accepted in to Sibis Private School, after informing the school about her abilities, of course.
